CancerSurvivor speaks to students of Aquinas College

We have all probably one time in our lives known someone who have either survived or died of cancer.

On March 18th, 2010 the students of grades 10-12 of Aquinas College have had the privilege of hearing the story of a cancer survivor. Mr. Travis Ricks of San Diego CA is not only a cancer survivor but also a competitive triathlete, who will also be participating in "The Ride For Hope" marathon being held in Governor's Harbour Eleuthera on March 20th, 2010.

Travis is the Program Coordinator or The Challenged Athletes Foundation. The CAF raises money to help people with physical disabilities pursue an active lifestyle through physical fitness and competitive athletics.

Being actively involved in sports during his high school years, he shared his story of his journey of recovery of cancer in his right leg, after a tumor was found. At the age of 17 he had his right leg amputated.
