The Roman Catholic Church in The Bahamas is part of the worldwide Roman Catholic Church, under the spiritual leadership of the Pope. The diocese was elevated to a full diocese, as the diocese of Nassau in June 1960. On June 22nd, 1999, the diocese was again elevated as the new Archdiocese of Nassau.

Parish Priests and Deacons take time this week for a Retreat

Have you tried contacting your Parish Priest or Deacon this week to no avail? Well this week from Monday 12th April through Friday 16th April, 2010 our clergy have all joined Archbishop Pinder for a week long retreat.

Hosting the retreat is Fr. Julian Peters, O.S.B. from Saint Meinrad Archabbey.

Fr. Julian Peters, O.S.B. Bio:

Fr. Julian Peters, OSB, a monk and priest of Saint Meinrad Archabbey, is adjunct instructor in ESL and Latin. Most recently he was administrator of the Cathedral of SS. Peter & Paul in Indianapolis, IN, and director of liturgy for the Archdiocese of Indianapolis. He currently assists in the Monastery Infirmary. Fr. Julian was born October 29, 1960, in Toledo, OH. He attended both Saint Meinrad College and School of Theology, receiving a bachelor’s degree in Classics (Latin) in 1982 and a Master of Divinity in 1988. In 1994, he received a master's degree in non-profit administration from the University of Notre Dame. He joined the monastery on August 6, 1983, and professed his solemn vows on August 15, 1986. He was ordained on May 7, 1988. Fr. Julian previously served as secretary to the archabbot, secretary to the council and chapter, master of ceremonies, assistant archivist at Saint Meinrad Archabbey and was a commuting chaplain to Monastery Immaculate Conception in Ferdinand, IN. He has also served as director of alumni relations, assistant to the president-rector and associate dean of formation (college) for Saint Meinrad.
