New appointment for bahama CATHOLIC guy

My very last post was done on 29th October, 2010. It's amazing how time flies. It was around that same time that I was elected the President of the PTA at Aquinas College Catholic High School. From that moment onward I have been going non-stop. Now don't get me wrong, I am enjoying ever minute of it. I'm proud to be a former student of Aquinas College and just as proud to be Catholic.

I am very commited to role as PTA President and made it my number one priority to ensure that the PTA was not just a title that you hear about at a school, but a body that actually made a difference around the campus. What a blast we the PTA body has had so far. I can't believe we are already in the 2nd semester of the school year and our tenure as the Executive body for 2010-2011 will soon come to an end. I must say that I am very proud of the other members of the PTA board who's majority body is Catholic.

As a Catholic High School within the Bahamas I was totally shocked to learn that the school comprises of but around 33% Catholics. The school does not discriminate from a person's race, religion, national origin, ancestry, and creed; however one is expected to respect the faith and practices of the school. Because of the high percent of non-Catholics, many of the Catholic students become very intimidated about expressing their beliefs and participating at Mass when held at the school. This must change and as PTA President I will do what I can to ensure that it does.
