The Roman Catholic Church in The Bahamas is part of the worldwide Roman Catholic Church, under the spiritual leadership of the Pope. The diocese was elevated to a full diocese, as the diocese of Nassau in June 1960. On June 22nd, 1999, the diocese was again elevated as the new Archdiocese of Nassau.

Sister Neely retires after 42 years

Sister Jacinta Neely, Religious teacher of Aquinas College will retire from the Catholic Board of Education after having served unselfishly for the past 42 years. A member and the sub-prioress of St. Martin’s Monastery on Nassau St, Sister Jacinta has held many posts within the CBOE including Principal of St. Bedes, and most recent at Aquinas from 1991 to present.

A Mass of thanksgiving was held in her honor at the Loyola Hall where she was surrounded by many invited guests including sisters from her order.
