In Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be brought to life.

The year was 1989, the decor and ambience within the Garfunkel Auditorium set the stage for what would be a prom night the graduating class of that year would forever remember. Dressed in their Sunday go to meeting best everyone came to enjoy an evening with their friends as their time together was soon coming to an end. Fast forward 25 years later and these events are no longer a part of the school's activities. It took but one time for a tradition to come to a complete halt. The innocent had to suffer for the guilty.

As we heard this weekend at Mass, our life of joy with no pain and hurt came to a screeching halt when Adam and Eve went against God's will by listening to the serpent who used them to test God. Not only did Adam and Eve had to pay the price for their sin, but we too have fallen out of grace with God, but satan failed once again because unlike the high school prom that will probably never happen again for the high school seniors, all human beings have been given another chance to eternal life through a new Adam, known as Jesus Christ.

Though our fate was sealed when we were born into sin because of our fore father Adam, we have been given a new hope and a new life through Jesus Christ who came among us to pay the price of our sins. For God to sacrifice His only begotten son for our sins, we must truly mean everything to Him. I'm sure it broke Adam and Eve's heart when they learned what they had done. They had it all and they let it go, but more importantly they broke that relationship they shared with God. When we sin today we should stop and remember who it is that we are hurting. Jesus paid the ultimate price for our sins, He took away that original sin that we were born with, therefore when we sin we are telling Jesus thanks, but no thanks, I can do this by myself. Call on the name that brings life and be brought back to life.
